The Right Fit Starts With the Right Information

A size chart can tell you numbers. It cannot tell you the whole story.
Two people with the same height and weight may need very different mobility configurations.
That is why the xROVER USA recommendation process looks beyond basic measurements.
We consider the person’s current mobility, seated dimensions, positioning needs, comfort, transfers, intended activities, existing equipment and room for future growth.
For some families, height and weight provide enough information to begin a recommendation. In other situations, a few additional seated measurements can make an important difference.
MEASURE WHAT MATTERS.
Seat depth. Hip width. Shoulder width. Back height. Lower-leg length.
These measurements can help our team better understand how a person will actually fit within an adaptive mobility system — not simply whether they fall within a published height or weight range.
That distinction becomes particularly important for growing teenagers, adults, individuals with unique body proportions, and anyone who may need additional positioning support.
MORE SUPPORT ISN’T ALWAYS BETTER.
Good configuration is not about adding every available accessory.
For some individuals, additional trunk, pelvic, head or lower-extremity support may be important.
For others, a simpler seating environment provides greater comfort, freedom of movement and easier transfers.
Our objective is to identify the support that is useful — without unnecessarily over-configuring the equipment.
PLAN FOR TODAY. THINK ABOUT TOMORROW.
Adaptive mobility equipment is an investment.
For children and teenagers who are still growing, we also consider how a configuration may accommodate future physical growth.
The goal is not simply to select something that fits today.
It is to develop a mobility solution that can continue supporting participation as needs, activities and physical dimensions change.
A NEW xROVER USA RESOURCE
To make this part of the process easier for families and professionals, we have introduced the:
xROVER Passenger Measurement Chart™

The simple visual guide shows how to take the seated measurements our team may request when additional fit confirmation is helpful.
It can be used at home with a family member or caregiver, or together with a PT, OT or mobility professional.
WE START WITH THE PERSON — NOT THE PRODUCT.
At xROVER USA, our recommendation process is designed around a simple principle:
Understand the person.
Understand the environment.
Then configure the mobility solution.
Because the right xROVER isn't simply about choosing S, M or L.
It's about helping create the right combination of fit, support, growth and real-world participation.
