Some families assume immediately that insurance will not help.
Others assume Medicaid will cover everything.
And some begin looking at financing before understanding whether another funding resource may be available.

First, understand the funding landscape.
Depending on the individual, the state, the health plan, functional needs and available programs, potential funding pathways may include:
- private health insurance;
- Medicaid or Medicaid Managed Care;
- Medicaid waiver programs;
- state or regional disability programs;
- nonprofit organizations and foundations;
- community grants;
- employer or charitable resources;
- private purchase or payment options;
- or, in some situations, a combination of resources.
None of these pathways guarantees that an xROVER will be funded.
And that distinction matters.
We do not promise coverage.
Instead, our team helps families understand whether there appears to be a realistic pathway worth pursuing before significant time, documentation or money is invested.
Sometimes the answer begins with insurance.
A health plan may require a physician's order, PT or OT evaluation, medical documentation, prior authorization or submission through an approved DME provider.
In other situations, insurance may determine that the requested equipment is not a covered benefit.
That decision can also matter.
A formal insurance determination or denial may sometimes become relevant when another program — such as a waiver, grant or disability funding resource — requires evidence that other available funding sources have first been explored.
The sequence matters.
Sometimes the opportunity exists outside traditional insurance.
Families across the United States may have access to very different resources depending on where they live and which programs they participate in.
That is why a funding strategy for one family may make little sense for another.
Just like mobility itself:
Funding is not one-size-fits-all.
Start before you assume the answer is no.
You do not need to understand Medicaid regulations.
You do not need to know which waiver may apply.
You do not need to have a Letter of Medical Necessity prepared.
And you do not need to begin by paying for professional funding services.
